Job Summary
The Donor Advisor I (DA1) cultivates and stewards a portfolio of about 600-800 donors with
mid-level gift capacity or about 150 donors with major capacity for all Hope Media Group
brands. The DA I follows a scalable stewardship plan for mid-level individual donors and
creates Individual Donor Plans (IDPs) for major donors to match their passions and interests
with brands, projects, and initiatives at Hope Media Group. They will support donor
communications, impact reporting, and gift solicitations with individual donors, foundations,
and corporations – all while nurturing a life of generosity in each donor. The DA I is attentive
to donors’ spiritual needs and prays with donors as needed.
Essential Functions
Portfolio Stewardship:
- Portfolio Stewardship
- Engages, shepherds, and solicits a portfolio of qualified mid-major level donors in support of all Hope Media Group brands and programs
- Builds and stewards relationships with portfolio donors
- Creates, maintains, and updates complete donor data in CRM
- Engages with donors with phone calls, handwritten notes, personal emails, texts, and in person visits to identify specific donor HMG brand interest(s) and to build connection to other HMG brands
- Promptly and professionally responds to and resolves donor requests and inquiries
- Provides ongoing spiritual care to portfolio, including praying with donors on phone calls and in-person as appropriate
- Works with Executive Director, Donor Experience and leadership team members to coordinate meetings with major donors if needed
- Seeks and creates opportunities to deepen donor experiences with Hope Media Group brands
- Inspires donors during experiences such as group tours of Hope Media Group campus and studios
- Occasionally attends events such as breakfasts, galas, sports competitions, rodeos, vision trips, and pre-concert dinners to engage with donors as needed (requires early mornings, some evenings and some weekends.)
Demonstrated Faith
- Committed to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Be spiritually grounded and biblically literate.
- Comfortable praying for co-workers in team meetings, leading spoken prayer, and participating in ministry prayer meetings and Bible studies.
- Lives by the Christian principles defined by the Ministry Statement of Faith.
- Participates in on-air fundraisers and prays for donors as needed.
- Has a passion for leveraging the platform of radio for evangelism and discipleship.
- Exhibits a strong moral character.
- Is an active member of a Bible believing local church.
Non-Essential Functions

Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required if has customer service experience
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in development/fundraising for non-profit organizations or customer service experience
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Demonstrated understanding of fundraising, principles, methods, and practices; and the ability to develop successful donor relationships through cultivation and stewardship
- Demonstrated experience in developing and executing strategy
- Prioritizes and task-switches with a fluctuating workload and competing priorities
- Organizes and manages time with frequent interruptions
- Attention to detail regarding writing, data entry and numerical accuracy, with a focus on data analysis and data integrity
- Listens and quickly picks up on verbal/tonal cues
- Clearly communicates both verbally and in writing with constituents and corporate partners by telephone, letter, e-mail, and in person
- Takes initiative, works independently, and collaborates with team members
- Ministry minded person who learns quickly from the trainings and offers suggestions for improvement when needed

- Natural ability to quickly build rapport and trust with ministry stakeholders
- Able to process analytically and think strategically regarding managing a portfolio of donors and upgrading gifts.
- Skilled at positioning a funding offer and making the ask
- Demonstrates strong moral, ethical and relational skills
- Desires and shows willingness to pray for others
- Sound understanding of the theology of fundraising and fundraising ethics
- Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
- Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel & Teams. Ability to be trained on Virtuous CRM
