The Gig
Federated Media’s South Bend cluster is looking for a Promotions Assistant who can be the hands and the face of our stations out in the community. When B100, 103.9 The Bear, 95.3 MNC, or Froggy 102.7 set up at a client location, concert, or community event, you’re the one making sure the gear works, the broadcast sounds great, and the station looks sharp.
This is a hands-on, in-the-field role for someone who’s reliable, technically capable, and comfortable representing a brand in public. If you take ownership of your setup and you’re early more often than you’re on time, you’ll fit right in.
What You’ll Do
Run the setup. Mics, speakers, PA, and all connections fully tested and working before airtime. You arrive 45 minutes early for standard remotes, and an hour early for live broadcasts.
Support the talent. Assist with timing, audio, and any technical needs so the on-air team can focus on the show.
Own the presence. Position the vehicle, banners, and setup for maximum visibility. Keep the station looking professional from the moment you arrive until the official end time — no early teardown.
Stay engaged. Help keep the event flowing and stay ready to troubleshoot the second something goes sideways.
Manage the gear. Inventory all equipment before and after every remote, report anything missing or damaged immediately, and submit repair requests with clear descriptions of the issue.
A standard kit includes audio gear, mics, speakers, cables, PA, table setup, promo items, power, and tools.
What We’re Looking For
- Reliable, punctual, and genuinely comfortable being early
- Solid technical aptitude — able to set up audio gear and troubleshoot on the fly
- Professional and personable with clients, listeners, and staff
- Proactive problem-solver who takes initiative instead of waiting to be told
- Able to lift and transport equipment and work events that may run evenings or weekends
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (you may operate a station vehicle)
Professional Expectations
- Dress appropriately and keep station attire clean
- No smoking while representing the station or in station vehicles
- No extended visits from friends or family during a remote
- Remain present and available for the full event
Vehicle & Communication
- Communicate any issue — technical or client-related — immediately
- No overnight station vehicles off-site without approval
- Clean and fuel the vehicle after each remote
- Use station devices only at the station or approved remote locations
