Position
BVLGARI, the Contemporary Italian Designer of luxury jewels and watches, seeks a Director, Press & Communications to lead and elevate the brand's communications strategy across North America.
This role is responsible for driving brand desirability, awareness, and cultural relevance through strategic media relations, storytelling, executive communications, and integrated communications programs. The Director will oversee all aspects of press strategy, media engagement, product communications, corporate messaging, and event communications while partnering closely with Global Communications in Rome to ensure alignment with the Maison's vision and priorities.
Reporting to the Vice President, Brand Marketing & Communications, North America, this individual will serve as a key leader within the Marketing & Communications organization and manage a high-performing communications team.
Job responsibilities
Communications Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and lead the North American communications strategy, ensuring alignment with global brand objectives and regional business priorities.
- Drive earned media performance across fashion, luxury, jewelry, watches, lifestyle, business, culture, and entertainment media.
- Establish communications priorities and storytelling opportunities that strengthen brand equity, visibility, and desirability.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on communications opportunities, reputational matters, and market dynamics.
- Manage and mentor the Press & Communications team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration.
Press/Edit & Storytelling
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key editors, journalists, publishers, producers, and media partners across North America.
- Lead proactive press outreach and long-term relationship building to secure impactful editorial coverage.
- Develop compelling narratives that position BVLGARI at the center of luxury, culture, craftsmanship, innovation, and contemporary relevance.
- Oversee all press materials, including press releases, media alerts, talking points, executive messaging, briefing documents, and brand narratives.
- Drive visibility for key business priorities, including jewelry, watches, high jewelry, retail openings, ambassadors, partnerships, and brand initiatives.
Events, Launches & Brand Moments
- Partner closely with Events, Media, Retail, CRM, and Celebrity Relations teams to maximize communications impact across all brand initiatives.
- Lead communications strategies surrounding major launches, store openings, exhibitions, high jewelry activations, ambassador announcements, and cultural partnerships.
- Oversee media attendance, press experiences, and editorial engagement surrounding key events.
Executive & Corporate Communications
- Support executive communications for regional leadership, including speeches, interviews, presentations, thought leadership opportunities, and internal communications.
- Partner with Global Communications to ensure consistency of corporate messaging and strategic priorities.
- Manage sensitive communications matters with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
Measurement & Reporting
- Establish clear KPIs and performance metrics across earned media, share of voice, quality of coverage, media impact value (MIV), and brand visibility.
- Deliver regular reporting and strategic insights to regional and global leadership.
- Continuously assess industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities to strengthen BVLGARI's market position.
Profile
- 10+ years of communications, public relations, or media relations experience, preferably within luxury, fashion, jewelry, watches, beauty, hospitality, or lifestyle sectors.
- Proven track record developing and executing high-impact communications strategies that drive brand awareness and desirability.
- Established relationships across leading fashion, luxury, business, lifestyle, and cultural media.
- Strong leadership experience managing and developing teams.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to balance long-term brand building with immediate business priorities.
- Strong executive presence and ability to influence across all levels of an organization.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and project management skills.
- Comfortable operating within a fast-paced, matrixed global organization.
- Bachelor's degree required.

Compensation Range: $160,000 - $190,000
