Job DescriptionThe University of South Florida Athletics Department seeks experienced and reliable independent broadcast professionals to support live event productions throughout the year. Selected consultants will contribute to live athletic broadcasts across digital, streaming, and television platforms, supporting a range of technical and on-air roles. Assignments are determined based on individual expertise, availability, and operational requirements.
Broadcast crew members may support broadcasts in a variety of technical and on-air roles, contributing to the production of live athletic events distributed across digital, streaming, and television platforms. Assignments are based on experience, availability, and operational needs.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties and Responsibilities: * Support live sports broadcasts and related production activities.
* Perform assigned production roles before, during, and after events.
* Assist with setup, operation, and breakdown of broadcast equipment as needed.
* Collaborate effectively with producers, directors, engineers, and other production staff.
* Maintain a professional demeanor while working in a fast-paced live event environment.
* Follow established production workflows, safety procedures, and operational standards.
* Arrive prepared and on time for assigned events and production meetings.
* Represent the University of South Florida in a professional manner.
Positions: Camera Operations
Operates cameras to capture live game action and replays with precise framing.
Replay Operations
Captures, logs, and cues key moments for broadcast and officiating review.
Graphics Operations
Builds and operates on air graphics including scores, stats, and lower thirds.
Audio Support
Mixes and monitors broadcast audio for a clean, balanced feed.
Technical Directing
Switches the live feed by executing cuts and transitions per the director's calls.
Utility and Stage Management
Handles cabling, equipment setup, and on site logistics for production.
Shading
Set all cameras to match and adjust levels
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
- Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate game day schedules and events.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods during game day events
- Comfortable working outdoors and in various weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment, as necessary.
- Bachelor's degree with 2 years of experience in live sports, broadcast, video production or related fields
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 4 years of experience on collegiate, professional or live event broadcasts.
- .Knowledge of ESPN production standards and live events broadcasting.
