WEAR is seeking an experienced, detail oriented, and creative Full-time Video Editor to join our team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Edit video for daily news coverage, special projects, and sweep period stories
- Ingest news feeds from bureaus and various news organizations
- Collaborate with anchors, reporters, and producers to create compelling visual elements for newscasts
- Meet daily deadlines in a fast paced, high energy newsroom environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience editing video in a professional newsroom, production environment, or related field
- Proficiency with non linear editing systems and newsroom technology
- Strong understanding of storytelling, pacing, and visual composition
- Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of broadcast news operations is a plus
Requirements:
- College degree or a minimum of one (1) year of related experience
- Knowledge of Final Cut Pro and Avid NewsCutter XP editing technology is a strong plus
- Ability to work effectively with a variety of personalities while maintaining a professional work environment
