Job Summary/Description:
If you are a highly skilled non-linear Video Editor with the passion to tell stories through video and audio, Atlanta News First is looking for you! Our editing team is expanding, and we need video storytellers who are team players with the ability to multitask and edit in a fast-paced environment.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Produce edited audio/video material for various newscasts across broadcast and digital platforms
- Edit content that tells interesting and entertaining stories for our audience
- Accuracy and consistency in daily content
- Meeting strict and tight deadlines
- Handle feeds/intake room for live broadcasts and streaming, including setting up live shots, conducting mic checks, and troubleshooting minor technical issues
- Receive and distribute live and recorded feeds from and to our various partners
- Take charge and show off your creative ideas in long-formatted feature pieces
- Be flexible and nimble in breaking news coverage, and remain calm under pressure
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Broadcast Media/ Communication Degree preferred or 2-3 years relevant experience
- Knowledge of Edius video editing software is a plus, but not required; non-linear a must
- Attention to detail
- Top 40 Major market experience preferred
- Scheduling flexibility required: may include weekends, mornings, overnight shifts
- Newsroom experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must provide a link to recent examples of work
