Job DescriptionOHIO Athletics is a dynamic team of student-athletes, coaches and administrators with a vision to demonstrate unprecedented excellence in athletics, academics and student-athlete development. This position is responsible for the management, planning, and implementation of ESPN+ productions of select sports, including producing, developing compelling narratives and conducting interviews to highlight student-athletes, coaches, and athletic programs to enhance the Athletics brand and recruitment of student-athletes. The position will also lead the Video & Broadcasting team on all video board productions and assist with short and long form video content.
1. Independently manage and produce all ESPN+ and other digital streams for select varsity sports. Conceptualize, script, and produce feature stories on athletes, coaches, and key athletic events programs to enhance the Athletics brand and recruitment of student-athletes. Serve as team lead for freelance talent to research, prepare, and execute high quality sports broadcasts according to Mid-American Conference and ESPN+ standards.
2. Oversee, teach, train, and schedule student staff for video board productions to include video content needs, developing production schedules, and coordinating resources (camera, crew, etc), Responsible for evaluating, setting goals and identifying areas of improvement. Schedule, approve, and monitor staff hours to ensure operational efficiency. Collaborate with Marketing and Digital & In-Venue internal staff to ensure accurate execution of game day experience on live video boards.
3. Administer the setup, breakdown, and maintenance for associated equipment. Research, assess, and recommend new and emerging technologies to enhance the quality, efficiency, or engagement of broadcast productions, video board shows, or video post-production elements.
4. Collaborate with Athletics and University staff to plan and produce content for other non-assigned varsity sports, pre-produced video content, and other live non-sporting streamed events. Other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree.
