Join Our Team as a Business Reporting Analyst I!

As a Business Reporting Analyst I, you'll be a key contributor to the Data Services team, transforming complex data into clear, actionable insights that empower ministry decision-makers. Whether you're crafting compelling visualizations, mining data for trends, or building predictive models, your analytical expertise will help drive meaningful impact. Reporting to the Reporting Manager, you'll specialize in one or more areas of data science and leverage cutting-edge tools to deliver metrics that matter.
Here's some of what you will be doing:
- Utilize and/or create software to collect, cleanse, manipulate, analyze, model, or present data.
- Provide support to research teams or management by collecting and analyzing data and reporting results based on needs of end users.
- Collaborate with various business units (i.e. Marketing, Programming, and IT) to achieve results.
- Assist with the creation, performance, or management of research tools and activities needed to conduct formal secondary or primary research using appropriate statistical methodologies. Activities could include; writing screener/questionnaires/discussion guide questions, programming questionnaires, requesting data for distribution, fielding research projects, and managing third-party vendors.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and provide regular updates to Data Services team and other relevant business stakeholders.
- Assist with analyzing data, summarizing findings, synthesizing findings with other in-house information, and presenting research to stakeholders.
- Contribute to exploration and implementation of efficient and effective research methods through acquiring knowledge about product, markets, research methods, and general professional development.
- Monitor key competitors and analyze marketplace trends to influence business decisions.
- Work with team members to properly code data on input to produce more detailed, accurate and meaningful output results.
- Work with data warehouse team to collect, code and store supporting data from which to produce reports and dashboards focused on KPIs
- Work with Data Services Team to identify areas of improvement for data transmission, accuracy and proper data source usage.
- Develop strong business relationships with each department in the company to allow for streamlined reporting requests and to aid in them learning about proper data terminology and a better understanding of the data they are getting.
- Produces basic functional, clear and well-designed data visualizations.
- Understand and apply basic statistical principles.
- Works with appropriate Team Members on documentation to build and maintain data dictionaries.
- Verifies accuracy and completeness of data sources and their documentation for certification or deprecation.
- Reviews reports and data visualizations for accuracy, currency, completeness, clarity, and compliance with guidelines for certification or deprecation.
- Answers questions about the sourcing, meaning, interpretation and use of data and the data catalog from data consumers.
Here's some experience we are seeking:
- Bachelor’s degree in: Data Science, Marketing, Business Administration, Statistics, Mathematics, Social Sciences or other related field with emphasis in quantitative methods; or combination of education/training with relevant experience.
- Experience working with research software (e.g. survey design software such as Qualtrics, SPSS/SAS or other statistical software, Text Analytics) and fluency with core MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) are a must. Experience with PowerBI, Tableau, Alteryx, SQL, Nielsen or equivalent research software is a plus.
- Ability to discern and analyze the critical elements of large sets of information.
- Demonstrated ability to represent ministry and executive staff professionally and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work in a team-based environment or independently in fast-paced environment often with minimal supervision, sometimes under tight deadlines, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize appropriately while managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated attention to detail.
- A collaborative and flexible style, with strong service mentality. Need to be seen as a team player.
