The A Side: A Day in The Life
UMUK value eCommerce as a key foundational channel to connect artists and fans.
This role is pivotal in building and managing a portfolio of ecommerce stores for 3rd party artists and businesses.
We are seeking an experienced Senior eCommerce Store Manager to manage a selection or stores - from driving fast paced music and merchandise campaigns through to streetwear collaboration drops and album pre-orders. We are looking for a store manager with deep eCommerce merchandising experience rooted in always offering the best possible customer experience to our fans.
This Senior eCommerce Store Manager will directly manage the relationship for all 3rd party eCommerce accounts, working closely with artist management, labels and brands to deliver results across a number of Shopify stores. Using your knowledge of album pre-order campaigns and eCommerce best practise, the successful candidate will work cross functionally across the eComm team – collaborating with marketing, operations, CRM and fan experience. Bringing solid Shopify and eCommerce system experience, this role will suit a creative problem-solver with the ability to work on multiple projects, and a passion for great eCommerce retailing. You will have the ability to work independently under time constraints to deliver results and be confident in presenting and pitching to help sell-in UMUK eCommerce’s services for new business.
The B Side: Skills & Experience
Be Strategic
- Developing and overseeing the launch of new artist/brand stores across the group, working with the store management team, developers, and operations team to oversee timely builds and launches
- Working closely with internal labels, you will use your music eCommerce, commercial and merchandising experience to formulate & execute D2C strategies to drive sales conversions.
- Build relationships with third party, label and artist management. Report sales trends and store performance, manage escalations, and identify campaign pitfalls and learnings to inform future campaigns.
- Analyse site analytics and reporting to understand drop-off, monitor cart abandonment, identify friction in checkout process, and improve site engagement to increase customer acquisition.
- Become a champion of UMUK eCommerce in pitching and presenting about our services to new business.
Be Operational
- Daily store management of a portfolio of artist stores, managing basic theming and UX, product set up, merchandising and category management in line with eComm best practices.
- Day to day management of Shopify stores, ensuring homepage optimization, promotions and activations are managed effectively and successfully.
- Work with e-Commerce Ops and customer service to resolve issues on supply chain, ensure products stay in stock and constantly measure the customer feedback loop; ensure customer happiness and loyalty
- Manage relationships with our key partners in the e-Commerce space, notably the labels, brand owners, tech team and finance teams, warehouse team, procurement and merchandise companies, artist managers and ticket agencies.
- Project manage the day-to-day activities & future projects on our PM tool Monday.com with the wider eCommerce team + labels.
Be Administrative
- Work with labels/third partys/brands in delivering sales, stock, and profitability reporting.
- Ongoing management of SEO improvements across stores.
- Onboard new eCommerce tools and functionality across stores to create amazing customer journeys and experiences for lifestyle brands.
Person Specification
Necessary
- eComm experience in managing a portfolio of eCommerce stores
- Shopify experience and ability to work with store CMS, themes, and an understanding of core Shopify apps
- Experience of working with stock management and order management systems
- A strong understanding of core eCommerce best practice and UX with clear results delivering of great customer experience on stores
- Line management experience
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and client facing/consulting skills
- Experience of working within fashion, lifestyle or music eCommerce
- A commercial & analytical approach to business, adept at working and achieving store revenue targets
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong analytical knowledge across eCommerce, with experience building and speaking to store/campaign reports and data
- Understanding of site performance and user behaviour to enable business decision-making
- Understanding of paid marketing including paid social & PPC
- Understanding of SEO & accessibility best practices
Desirable
- PM tools – Preferably Monday.com
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Experience of working in cross-functional teams to drive projects to completion with an ability to react quickly and calmly to changing artist & label needs and deadlines
- Ability to multi-task, problem solve, and execute tasks with accuracy in a high-pressure, fast-paced agile environment
- Music, fashion or entertainment eCommerce experience
- Knowledge of record label process and an understanding of OCC rules to ensure chart eligibility on artist campaigns
