JOB DESCRIPTION
FOX News Media is looking for a hardworking and talented Production Assistant for Fox Noticias, the growing Spanish-only show that airs on multi-vertical platforms. This role has a strong emphasis on social media. As a Production Assistant, you will find and cut the most compelling videos while creating informative catchy graphics to visually tell the story. You will help grow the Fox Noticias digital and social media presence, with a strong focus on vertical video content and optimizing media for mobile platforms. The Production Assistant must have a passion for current events and enjoy working in a fast-paced, breaking news environment. An understanding of national politics and interest in general news is required.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Produce and edit reels and other video formats
Package video assets and edit footage into compelling, visually appealing social media storytelling videos that align with trends and audience preferences
Add social editing optimizations to enhance video products and improve opportunities for virality
Create and edit compelling videos and graphics for Fox Noticias' daily one-hour show
Find noteworthy clips based on trending politics and cultural narratives, transforming them into polished final edits
Strategize and implement measures to optimize show and video performance across Fox Noticias digital platforms
Develop sharp and engaging story angles tailored to the Fox Noticias audience
Conduct research to develop stories on a daily basis
Coordinate with producers on schedules, project progress, and deadlines to ensure smooth operations
Identify and help book potential guests for segments
Apply graphical elements, color correction, and audio mixing to deliver high-quality content
Leverage a strong understanding of social media culture and trends on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and X to create content that resonates with the platform's audiences
Demonstrate a strong understanding of user-generated content and effectively incorporate already-viral content from across the internet to create shareable, engaging content
Stay updated on internet trends and utilize them to craft content that aligns with audience behavior and enhances shareability
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience
Bilingual (Spanish and English) is required
1+ years or strong internship experience in web-based content creations
Extensive knowledge of politics, pop culture, entertainment, and how different genres of content feed into their respective internet subcultures
Exceptional eye for what goes viral online while thriving in a fast deadline-driven timeline
An eye for vertical content and how to work media for mobile devices
Basic knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop
Ability to scope out trending topics and viral stories and package them as consumable social media content to be shared online
A motivated, self-starter attitude with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Good editorial judgment and extensive knowledge of politics, news, and current events, entertainment, and viral content
Strong writing skills
Organization skills that allow for multiple projects to be produced simultaneously
Positive attitude with the ability to hit deadlines while working under pressure
Ability to work independently, paired with a self-starter attitude
Flexibility to work various shifts when needed

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $19.00-25.00 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
