About the role:
Working alongside Global’s Senior Publicist and reporting into the Senior Publicity Manager, the Publicity Coordinator’s responsibilities include media monitoring and reporting, media and influencer relations, and writing key press materials for Global and its lineup of hit series. Some administrative duties will also be required.
You will contribute by:
- Leading daily media monitoring for Global’s programming, along with managing strategic campaign reporting
- Generate and maximize PR and influencer relations for Global and its lineup of Original and acquired series
- Write and distribute key media materials including press releases, programming highlights, press kits, show descriptions, and more
- Manage the art/photography and other related media assets for Global series
- Support Global’s Senior Publicist on large-scale campaigns, while also managing a small portfolio of series
- Update and maintain media and influencer contacts list
- Foster relationships with influencers and content creators to generate earned social media for the network and its series
- Organize and coordinate publicity events, including influencer and media events and activations, Global brand events, and media junket support
- Coordinate, compile and courier media and influencer packages as required
Skills and experience you will bring:
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in the arts, public relations or communications
- Minimum of an internship or 1 year of experience in related work experience in entertainment, broadcast or public relations fields
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills (written and verbal)
- Diplomacy
- Flexible to change, new challenges and demands in a fast-paced environment
- Keen to new experiences and the ability to absorb new skills quickly
- Ability to work in an open office setting as part of a team
- Enthusiasm, creativity, strong organization skills and detail orientation
- Interest in and knowledge of Canadian broadcast industry trends and developments
- Strong computer skills: MS Office, Benchmark, Wordpress, MRP, Cision, etc.
