Playfly Sports is looking for a Manager, FP&A to join our team in Los Angles, CA.
The Manager of FP&A is a pivotal leader within the finance team, responsible for overseeing and driving the financial planning, analysis, and reporting functions across the organization. This role demands a strategic and experienced professional who can lead complex financial processes, deliver insightful analysis, and contribute to the overall financial strategy of the company. Reporting directly to the VP of FP&A and working closely with the Senior Financial Analyst (SFA), the Manager is responsible for ensuring accuracy, driving the financial narrative, and delivering high-quality outputs that support executive and departmental needs.
What You’ll Accomplish
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the FP&A team, ensuring seamless execution of financial processes and adherence to deadlines
- Guarantee the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reports and analysis, providing actionable insights to senior leadership
- Serve as a key advisor to the VP of FP&A and other senior leaders on financial matters, contributing to strategic decision-making
- Own monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and variance analyses, ensuring the financial narrative is accurate, insightful, and aligned with performance results
- Review and validate all reporting and commentary prepared by the SFA, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and readiness for executive review
- Lead preliminary variance research before month-end close, sharing findings and insights with finance leads
- Review and analyze sales pacing across all Playfly BUs, distributing the CLT/Sales Report to the CLT group
- Maintain and enhance financial reporting models used for close, budgeting, and reforecasting processes
- Partner with the VP of FP&A to prepare and refine the monthly and quarterly financial package for investors, ensuring high-quality and accurate reporting
- Lead the corporate budgeting process in collaboration with department owners, consolidating inputs and validating assumptions
- Maintain and update the Long-Range Plan (LRP) and integrate updates into the annual planning cycle
- Supervise the updating of balance sheet and cash flow forecasts to ensure accurate and forward-looking financial planning
- Serve as the FP&A point of contact for department leads, offering support on budgets, forecast inputs, and financial performance tracking
- Provide financial context, tools, and guidance to non-financial stakeholders to improve forecasting and cost management
- Ensure alignment across business functions on assumptions, templates, and deliverable timelines
- Identify and implement continuous improvements in FP&A processes and tools, driving efficiency and enhancing the accuracy of financial data
- Maintain documentation of processes and templates to support team continuity and scaling
- Support evaluation or implementation of FP&A systems and automation initiatives
- Supervise and mentor the SFA, ensuring data accuracy, narrative quality, and timely execution of reporting responsibilities
- Review and approve all key deliverables prepared by the SFA before submission to the VP of FP&A
- Collaborate closely with the VP to align on priorities, deliverables, and strategic initiatives
- Other job-related duties as assigned
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred
- 5+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or related roles
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with a track record of delivering accurate, insight-driven reporting
- Proven ability to manage financial planning cycles and partner effectively with stakeholders across functions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable distilling complex financials into executive-ready insights
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems, financial modeling tools, and reporting platforms is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Compensation
The base pay range for this role is $95,000 to $105,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
