Job Overview This position is responsible for covering and reporting the news for the station s newscasts and digital properties. Job Responsibilities Develop enterprise story ideas based on a customer centric approach with community impact as focus. Present live on television and digital sites in both scripted and unscripted news reports. Write clearly, accurately and conversationally for all platforms. Break down complicated and involved stories so that they are easy to understand. Bring a creative mindset to the newsroom each day. Ensure that any visuals shown are relevant, appropriate and impactful. Maintain standards of accuracy and fairness in news coverage. Excel at breaking news and clearly delivering accurate information. Write for and maintain strong presence on website and other social media platforms. Complete assignments according to established deadlines. Work closely and respectfully with assigned photographers. Attend editorial and strategic meetings Report to work on time and work established schedule/hours. Ability to work other hours or alternate schedules including early mornings, days, late evenings, weekends and holidays as needed, as assigned by news management. Make promotional and community appearances as required. Act in a professional manner when representing the station. Maintain professional standards regarding wardrobe, hair, cosmetics, and other areas of grooming as required for position. Compensation and Benefits When extending an offer, the company considers a variety of factors such as (but not limited to) the candidate's work experience, education/training & key skills as well as internal peer equity and other market and business considerations. The hourly pay rate for this position is $36.00 - $43.27 per hour.
