ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Listen to, develop, and maintain informed opinions on music supplied to the radio station
- Provide direction of music for airplay as appropriate and maintain the music library weekly
- Liaison with internal teams and external music sources and suppliers as required daily
- Assist the Operations Manager/Program Director in development and maintenance of all clocks, rotations, category compositions, and rules as they relate to music scheduling
- Schedule and troubleshoot daily music logs
- Maintain/update database and music software as required and generate and distribute music reports as required
- Meet with music reps, promotion people from record labels, and or managers on Music Day
- Connect with music reps, promotion representatives from record labels, and or managers on music call days
- Attend and coordinate mix show meetings to ensure the best music is placed on the mix show list
- Generate and distribute weekly mix show list, request sheet, and music daily via Music Master
- Oversee production elements for the station
- Recommend programming, promotions, and marketing opportunities
- Monitor stations to ensure proper talent formats, commercials, and promos
- Secure national talent for station events
- Write station promos and imaging
- Collaborate with the Sales and Promotions teams to create non-traditional revenue opportunities
- Schedule on-air talent on a weekly and as-required basis
- Coordinate with other staff members to ensure programming airs as required
- Train appropriate staff in the operation of on-air technology as required
- Assist Program Director with market research
- Attend and assist with major station promotions and promotions events
- Assist the Operations Manager/Program Director with the day-to-day programming operations
- To work with the station's Web Editor to ensure content and promotions are relevant to the target audience
- To assist the Operations Manager/Program Director with listener complaints and suggestions
- Respond to any music queries from listeners when needed.
- To appropriately represent the company when attending relevant industry and community-related events on an ongoing basis.
- Ensure that appropriate continuity is maintained at all times while on the air. This includes:
- Programming links
- Set-ups and Transitions (music identification to co-host, or any pre-recorded segments).
- To appropriately re-enforce the radio station brand and program at all times
- Connect on social media for both the radio station and the on-air talent’s brand
- Provide all relevant feedback for on-air talent on the following
- Contribute and support the creation of the show daily to include:
- Participation in weekly aircheck sessions
- Participation in daily pre-show content prep
- To professionally represent the company in public appearances as required
- Participation in station remote broadcasts, charity events, community events
- Collaborate in creating and posting original online content that meets company standards on social networking platforms. A combination of written blog posts, video blogs, and photo galleries
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Present a positive and professional attitude and presence at all station events
- High-level written and verbal communication skills, and in particular the ability to
communicate around multiple creative projects in a time-sensitive manner - Strong attention to detail and solid organizational and project management skills

- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and direct a team to include but not limited to:
- Provide regular constructive feedback
- Resolve issues/conflicts with diplomacy in a timely manner
- Provide ongoing guidance and support for growth and development
- Deploy effective coaching skills
- Practical understanding of anti-harassment and discrimination laws
- Ability to effectively administer performance reviews, and corrective action plans as appropriate.
- Ensure team (s) attend mandatory department and/or mandatory company training (s) as required.
- Submit to a criminal background check
- Legal right to work in the United States
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate degree or 2-year college or university. Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Management experience and an influential social media presence are a plus.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Salary Range: $80,000-$85,000
