Major Responsibilities
Business Development
- Understand the NBA Latin America digital offering and collaborate with departments on developing new content and products that resonate with fans and partners.
- Commercialize existing and new digital inventory tailored to the LATAM market, aligning with NBA brand values and fan interests (Social Media, WhatsApp, YouTube, and other digital assets).
- Develop and implement a new digital business development strategy for NBA in partnership with Fan Engagement and Content Production departments, as well as in consultation with the Head of Marketing Partnerships of NBA LATAM, the Head of Strategy and Managing Director. This will include defining partner segments to focus on, digital asset pricing and packaging, and understanding competitive landscape.
- Lead relationship with key stakeholders in digital media landscape such as media agencies, pricing consultants, data experts, and others.
- Collaborate with the Content, Fan Engagement & Marketing, and other Marketing Partnerships team members to ideate and package integrated campaigns for brand partners.
- Lead client-facing presentations and pitch meetings, articulating the value of NBA LATAM’s content ecosystem.
- Manage the end-to-end sales process, from prospecting and proposal development to deal negotiation and execution.
- Monitor campaign performance and deliver post-campaign reports to clients, ensuring KPIs are met, and insights are shared.
- Stay informed on regional media trends, fan behavior, and emerging platforms to inform content strategy and innovation.
- Build relationships with senior-level decision makers at prospective sponsors, relevant marketing agencies, event management companies, and promoters to generate new partners and other new business opportunities.
- Support the entire sales process from proposal to deal memo submission and contract execution by liaising with other departments (Legal, Finance, etc.)
- Maintain a database of highly valuable targets and opportunities.
- Monitor the activity of other sports and entertainment properties in the region.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the sales and marketing activities of prospective partners as well as the general advertising, marketing, and technology landscape to understand potential client digital solutions.
Internal Partnerships
- Establish and develop close relationships with all the NBA New York global account teams, ensuring that they are proactively informed about all the regional plans, initiatives, and projects for LATAM digital platforms, and that LATAM understands central efforts and commercial opportunities for the region.
- Develop and execute a detailed and coherent plan focused on engaging the NBA New York global account teams with exciting and consistent presentations specifically for global partners interested in digital investment in Latin America.
- Represent NBA LATAM in global pitches and status meetings, providing relevant information and insights about the local plan, initiatives, and projects, while also outlining clearly how current and potential global partners would receive value through those.
Required Skills/Knowledge
- Specific experience with and knowledge of digital assets including social media, original content production, email marketing, and customer first party data activations.
- Understanding of how digital audience segments are created and how campaigns can be tailor made for partners to achieve their desired goals.
- Successful track record building business; must have a strong understanding of the market and a network of relationships across all sectors.
- Creative storyteller with the ability to sell conceptually and builds new digital products aligned with NBA’s priorities in the region.
- High-level connectivity – client-side and sponsorship/marketing community in general.
- Ability to attain and exceed targets.
- Entrepreneurial approach with a strong understanding of business fundamentals.
- A track record of securing partnership with entertainment properties.
- Ability to develop creative solutions that will meet the objectives of prospective partners.
- Experience in working within a structured corporate environment.
- Business knowledge – being up to date with business/market/industry trends.
- A thorough understanding of the sports landscape (basketball and NBA knowledge preferred).

- Resourceful and creative to maximize available resources and achieve aggressive targets.
Experience Needed
- Minimum of 15+ years of sales and/or business development experience.
- Experience in a tech company or digital first environment is a plus.
- Strong understanding of branded content, digital storytelling, and partnership marketing within the sports and entertainment industry.
- Deep knowledge of the Latin American media landscape, including social platforms, content formats, and fan engagement trends.
- Familiarity with digital platforms, media offerings, and digital performance metrics.
- Strategic thinker – able to shape, develop, and execute the strategy for the NBA.
- Strong persuading and negotiation skills.
- A credible communicator, adept at operating at the board level.
- Commercially minded and results driven.
- Excellent presentation skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to work well within a matrixed organization.
- A passion for sports is preferred.
- English, Spanish, and Portuguese fluency.
