Do you have a passion for writing? We are looking for a News Reporter to join our team. Reporting to the Content Director, you will find and deliver relevant stories to our audience.

The Role

Crafting content: Your primary role will be to write digital and radio news stories.
Gathering local stories: You will listen for the questions people are asking. Then you will find story ideas, interview sources, and verify information along the way.
Cultivating local relationships: You will develop relationships with local stakeholders and news sources.
Delivering news broadcasts: You may record and edit news reports for delivery on air.

The Ideal Candidate

You are eager to engage with the community.
You are curious and like to learn new things.
You have excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
Previous experience in news reporting is an asset.
Experience with Burli, audio editing software, photography, and/or videography are an asset.
You are dedicated to your craft. You aren’t afraid to cover stories outside of business hours.
You have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
