About the Role:
Are you ready to make an impact at a dynamic organization with a diverse portfolio spanning construction, real estate, and corporate entities? Meruelo Group LLC is seeking a passionate and driven Accounts Payable Manager to lead a high-performing team and drive excellence across our accounts payable operations.
Key Responsibilities:
²Lead and inspire the Accounts Payable team, supporting diverse business units across construction, real estate, and corporate entities.
²Champion best practices—develop, document, and enforce policies that keep us ahead of the curve.
²Own the vendor payment process, ensuring accuracy and resolving challenges with confidence.
²Deliver actionable insights through department metrics and KPIs, helping leadership make informed decisions.
²Verify proper lien releases before payments to subcontractors and vendors.
²Collaborate with Accounting to oversee monthly AP closings and ensure the integrity of monthly balances.
²Lead vendor onboarding and profile updates, swiftly completing credit applications to keep operations seamless
²Handle 1099 and tax reporting, vendor setup, and reconciliation tasks effectively.
²Drive continuous improvement—identify and implement new ways to boost accuracy and efficiency.
²Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
²5+ years of accounts payable managerial experience (construction industry preferred).
²Proven leadership and supervisory skills.
²Detail-oriented, organized, and a natural problem solver.
²Strong communication skills—able to collaborate across teams and with external partners.
²Experience with Spectrum Accounting Software is a big plus!
²Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.
